This is something I went to last year and is a nice event to help out about 70 plus families children that are not fortunate enough to have a lot to spend on Christmas. If anyone wants to participate they are more than welcome too and/or donate a toy, money or just your support to escort the children through Wal-Mart for the shopping spree. T-Rav and Myself will be going to join up with them. I post the info and the flyer if anyone is interested. Open the zip file at the bottom to view the details of the rally point for the ride. Thanks Ash

WHAT IS "CHRISTMAS for KIDS" ? It is truly a GRASS ROOTS effort by several Motorcycle groups, Churches, the NC National Guard and committed individuals to help

LOCAL "KIDS" and families that otherwise would not be able to have much at CHRISTMAS.

HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN GOING ON ? This year will be our 10th ANNUAL. We started in 1999 after Hurricane Floyd flooded Eastern NC. That year we took
125 "KIDS" shopping at WalMart in Goldsboro spending $125 ea on toys & clothing. Each family also received a $75 food gift certificate.

That was just the start and each year since then, we have shopped with the "KIDS" at the WalMart in

Smithfield. Over the past 9 years we have helped over 750 "KIDS", ages infant to 16, and their families, escorting most of the "KIDS" personally on a shopping spree thru WalMart and helping others individually after the day of the shopping spree.

Last year in 2007, a total of 70 "KIDS" were escorted thru WalMart and another 18, that were not able to be at WalMart, were shopped for. As always, each family was also given a Gift Card for CHRISTMAS Dinner.

This has ONLY been possible because of the support of individuals like yourself.

HOW CAN I HELP? There are 2 ways in which you can help:

1st) By DONATING to help SPONSOR a "KID" or family.

EVERY PENNY donated goes DIRECTLY to the "KIDS" and Families

( NO OVERHEAD OR EXPENSES of any sort are taken out )

2nd) By ESCORTING a "KID" on the Shopping Trip, which is

Saturday December 13th, at the Wal-Mart in Smithfield, at 12:30PM.

WHAT DOES AN ESCORT DO? Simply an ESCORT takes a "KID" thru WalMart shopping . The ESCORT is given a gift card to pay for the purchase. Probably the MOST IMPORTANT thing is that the ESCORT shows the "KID" that someone cares.
PLEASE sign up in advance, see brochure.

IS MY DONATION TAX DEDUCTIBLE ? YES. "CHRISTMAS for KIDS" is a project of
Carolina Bikers Charities, Inc which is a "Non-Profit" 501c3 corporation approved by IRS.

The family I escorted last year, understood the word of needing.... The mother bought clothes, underwear, and shoes first before any toy or extra was considered. I picked up a couple things that the two children wanted and let me say they where very appreciative!!! It was a great feeling :beerchug:

Thank You from all of us at the North Pole.

This kind act that you and others do is truly "The Christmas Spirit".

Ride was great and helping these families and children where even better!! There was around 14 thousand spent to help these families out. It would be great if there was an account that we could drop a few dollars in to donate to this charity for 2009.

Folks let me say, we have some serious poverty issues in this country that shouldn't be! It's awful what some of these kids have to live in!!!

Thanks Ash

I concure,
This needs to come to a stop. You see all over TV in other countries in the world about people in need when we got needs in our own back yard. The Bible says charity starts at home. I know our small Busa comunity may not be able to do it all but we can do something Someone was asked once:
"How do you eat an elephant?" The reply, "One bite at a time."
Those of you that are doing things to help  Keep up the good work. But for those that aren't... Hold off on that MOD for a little bit and help someone in need.
And I want to incourage you to not just do that at CHRISTmas time but year round... Besides needs don't stop existing on DEC 26. Thanks and Be Better Than Blessed.

I just read this... Am I to late?

You weren't at the time you posted the Email:whistle: but Webb and myself were getting ready to change out my exhaust and obviously we didn't check the board afterwards. Sorry, maybe next time. It was fun though and the kids were so greatful. Pictures to come soon.
