We have five of them, numbers 15, St Louis, 23, Baltimore, 42 San Juan PR?, 46 Detroit and 50, New Orleans. This list is a worldwide list based on killings per 100,000 people, not including other crimes gun related or not, just homicides. Countries in S America dominate the list. What might be surprising are the lack of cities in European countries. What’s not surprising is anyone trying to verify any statistics from countries like Russia, China, and so on. Their info may not have been included. A handful only from Africa and the east but damn, S America is on fire! No wonder people are heading north.

The list shows the list of the most dangerous but I'll bet there are lots that are pretty dangerous.....

....and like you said, it's not a real complete list....I've been to a few cities that are pretty dangerous....downtown Mogadishu isn't a vacation spot...to name one....

Yeah there were several ‘surveys’ and websites addressing the question too. I only looked up the stat because a forum member in (Arizona) on a handgun website I frequent actually said that he is always armed, always wears a sidearm even inside his home, sitting around watching tv, eating dinner, whatever, everywhere but in the shower. Certainly no city in Arizona merits this type of ‘preparedness’ and I responded by saying he fit the definition of a paranoid. There was another guy who agreed with him (for the necessity) of constantly being armed, even inside their home. I thought Somalia maybe but not Flagstaff AZ.

I for one am very happy to live where I do.......I have yet to ever feel the need to be armed here...and that's a good feeling.

When I was a kid on our farm I was always armed with my .22 rifle but we had groundhogs and lots of wolves and coyotes to deal with...

Same here, the whole county has less than 160,000 people. Of course the city of Fresno with 500,000 and lots of crime like any other big city is just 40 miles away and we do have a lot of tourists for the Park here but right where I’m at, at the edge of a lil town in the country I feel quite safe. What I don’t want to happen is to get caught out somewhere w/o a sidearm. That’s based more on my prior work than any current crime stats.

But I’m not armed inside my own home.
