Has anyone else had a problem getting their throttlemeister to correctly hold the throtlle.

I get mine adjusted and then it becomes too loose. If I get it to hold with the in/out throttle slack taken up then it is too tight.

The tension sleeve is not staying tight and is allowed to be pushed inward therefor not allowing enough contact to keep the bar end engaged.

What have others done?

After about one year I had to make an adjustment with extra washer to mine.... Don't have it anymore so can't tell you if it is a permanant fix.

I've only been able to use the throttlemeisters as a, "Close enough" ! Then I get the exact speed and hold it with my palm using just light pressure. That's the way I have always had to use it. I never got it where I could just set it, leave it and away I went on a steady speed

I thought about using one when I first bought my Busa, but after installing a fully electric cruise... I would never use a grip tension device.

I can set any speed and just sit back and cruise....

Module fits nicely under the throttle bodies.

Mine holds its position but the speed does vary on uphills and downhills, that's expected of course so I just add a little pressure to the throttle in the direction needed.
Is it possible you have the opposite of what's happening on this link? His is locking when it's not supposed to.

I think my problem is with the tension sleeve moving inward.  I had to put electrical tape under and as a stop to even keep it some what in place.

My throttle sleeve is about 1/8" inside the handle bar end and if I let the tension sleeve rest on the throttle sleeve the throttlemeister will not even touch it.

I may need to glue the tension sleeve in place

I didn't trim the ring of the plastic off the throttle sleeve like the instructions said to I just slipped the rubber sleeve over it. It was a tight fit and my grip has a bit of a bluge in it but I didn't want to do any trimming on my throttle since I plan on putting an electronic cruise on it some day. Not that the trimming would hurt that though.
Anyway it seems to be working like it should.

Tango1300, I PMed you, I would like some info on your electronic cruise if you don't mind sharing.
Thanks,
Dale

I didnt trim mine down smooth either, I think leaving it jagged or raised may help.

You don't need the trim sleeve.. Mine nor GSXTacy uses this sleeve.. Use the washers then put it on the grinder and thin it down to the required thickness so it works like you want it to..

the washers are for providing extra distance between the grip and the TM (less grip).

taking out the washers allows you to bring the TM closer to the sleeve (more grip).

make sure that you throttle assembly is not moving at all...possibly inwards.

I used a small ty-wrap over my sleeve and under my grip..works for me.
