Sounds better than "Slave State" to me!
Make no mistake here, Obama was not a decendant of slaves but instead of slave owners!
Sounds better than "Slave State" to me!
Title to this thread says it all, GAME OVER!
Only good thing is, the democrats have complete control and when they screw it up they have nobody to blame except themselves.
And yes change is coming, better get ready because I don't quite believe it is going to be the type of change you guys were looking for!
You are right - it is over and Barak Obama is President-Elect. I can only hope that he has the brains and moral courage to make sound decisions, and I wish him luck (we need it). John McCain probably made the best speech of his entire campaign last night in his concession speech. He truly is an American Hero.
Some observations:
1. I did my part; TN carried for McCain, and Republicans wrested control of both state House and Senate from the Dems (they have held it for 40 years).
2. There was no landslide. 52% to 48% is not a landslide or a mandate. Bottom line, Obama won solely (Do I dare say it?) because of RACE.
3. The Dems did make headway, but did NOT get carte blance with a 60 seat filibuster-proof majority. There is still some check-and-balance remaining. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are still going to have to "get along to get ahead". They've got two years..
4. It IS a great day for our country when a black man (or as close as black as Obama gets) CAN be elected the the highest office in the land. I would just have preferred another black man to this one. Now I don't have to listen to how bad the "black man has been held down and deserves (insert here)" anymore....
I am a Conservative White Republican, but more than anything, I am an AMERICAN.
I agree with some of this. Yes, some people voted for him because he is black. BUT I think alot more voted against him for the same reason. JMO
