Here is a good link to an article I haven't been able to validate as of yet... SOPA stands for Stop Online Piracy Act and would absolutely and completely change websites like the Org... just think of every picture you upload here could take the site offline if the author is credited.. How would I ever be able to track or verify every picture?

The Author of SOPA Is a Copyright Violator | VICE

i agree cap this is bs. Everyone needs to email call etc your senator etc. This is going to vote soon!

YouTube is already enforcing rediculous copyright rules. Which is more likely when someone puts a music track on a riding video:
1) nobody will pay for the song because they can just listen to it on the riding video.
2) some folks will pay to download the MP3 without the engine sounds over it.
I think #2 is more likely.

Now the Fed wants to take this to an entirely new level. I can't imagine how much money will be lost when everyone is afraid to share anything and exposure to everything goes back to pre-internet days. Folks that don't want to pay for a song will have to go back to recording them from the radio again.

So what would you all think if I blacked out the org tomorrow too? I've honestly thought about it..

Do you think it might help? Let us know before if you do anything, we might think somebody got hold of you pc

You would probably achieve more results if you asked all the .Org folks who shared your views on this issue to contact their congressman and senator. Shutting down the .Org isn't going to bring the issue to the attention of enough people to make a difference.

If on the other hand it's a Quixotic gesture for you, by all means, call me Sancho, pick a windmill and till away!

cheers

I think you should shut it down cap, and the ONLY way in is to email your congressman. There must be a way to do that. Like a welcome page with a link to that page with the zip code finder. Know what I mean? Go to Craigslist today, and you'll see what I'm talking about..

I like how Craigslist got theirs, maybe something like that for us too.

You would personally be responsible for my deep depression and eventual suicide if you shut down the org!
Just keep that in mind bucko!

As the engineer leading our agency's DNSSEC rollout (well underway, some zones signed for a couple of years now), I'm not amused by SOPA.

i have been aware of sopa for a while now...my opinions are well known about this ill directed legislation
