Jets.....gotta love 'em. The Air National Guard operates an Air to surface gunnery range about 3 hrs from where I live, here in Wisconsin called Hardwood Range. It's open to the public during during operational hours. They even have a number you can call for a schedule of times that fighter groups will be flying in. I haven't been there in a few years, but you can see everything from B-52's to F-16's flying in doing bombing runs. Trust me...ya haven't lived until you've witnessed a strafing run with an A-10 Warthog lighting up his 30mm Vulcan rotary cannon! All projectiles are inert and no high explosives. You can sit and watch right next to the control tower and a lot of the jets due high speed low level fly by's when they depart.
