driving with a good mix of city and highway, lets say I can go 140miles maybe a bit more, on a full TTT tank of gas.  Is this good? Comparable to what you guys are getting?  I am wondering because I have a 650mile trip to make in 2 weeks.

~UPDATE~
ok well false alarm. I really checked and the residue on the plugs and stuff is oil. Oil from when I dramatically overflowed the engine. it CLOGGED my air filter as result of bad gas mileage no? also the oil, underpressure seem to get out any way it could lol every connection there was oil residue where it had leaked. I am getting the CR9EIX just for the heck of it 17+ no change plugs. See if my airbox is dirty enough

Seems a little low. I go 200 miles on a tank when commuting to work. That is about when the fuel light comes on and I still have over a gallon in the tank.

ok I think I am dumping fuel somewhere in the lines thats why I made this post to see. will cost me alot more in gas. Seems I am using half of it, other half is being wasted. That sucks.

I have a 80/20 mix highway and city. I average 40 mpg every time. Pretty even handed on the throttle with a few shortcomings

Question: what is left in the tank when the light first comes on?

I have no performance mods on the bike, earlier last week I posted up that I had a fuel leak when I lifted the tank. Could not see a visible leak, but it seemed to be under pressure, wires and plugs are sooty and dirty because of it. A guy with a 1397 gets better than me. I will be lucky to squeeze 120 out of this tank before I need to fill up

I am not going by the MPG gauge because it has always been above 39 and was 41.6 at 1 point, so I am loosing it before it gets to the engine.

Hey busa_bill, there are alot of Busas that meet at the 1960 exit Exxon right off I45 eXIt 60 or something. But I have not been hanging with the Bike crowd since last year bearly. Too much going on, but I hope to have somethings straightened out before I can start to have fun

I cruise at 6th gear for 50mph, 70mph. Every now and then 4th gear at those speeds for saftey. I accelerate slow I shift at 3-4k in lower gears. I have been acting good to see what numbers I could pull. I think I should have put it all they way to be more accurate but either way I think I am loosing fuel.

I get about 200 miles when the light comes on. That is with the occasional 140 blast. I have averaged over 40 since I bought the bike. It has almost 3,000 miles on it. I have Yoshi slip ons and thats it.

The only time I got around thirty was behind disney and in the throttle all day long. I still got 32.

Good Luck.

Went for a long ride with a bunch of "cruiser" guys last week. According to the "thingy" on the 'busa I got 49.5 mpg! Never got that before. Went out the next day by myself and got 37 mpg. Hmmm--I guess it does depend on how you ride! Gotta admit--the 37 mpg ride was a lot more fun!! LOL

All depends on the mods that you have.....the more mods the lower the gas mileage

I have 18,000 miles and still average 37 mpg except when I hit the funny juice.....
