I came across this picture on our hospitals web page and thought I'd share. Our service line is trying to do a marketing push and is advertising in magazines, newspapers, etc. It seems that the horrible world of managed care has really taken a bite out of mental health services and we are playing catch up.

In case there is doubt about which one rides a bike, I'm the tall F'er in the middle.

Sad state all around I guess. Ours wants to expand into everything possible. My only rant deals with their "non profit" status. They make SO much money that they have to dump their "excess" into "building improvements", but not into employee saleries. Example, our unit has a $40,000 security system. 32 color cameras, digitally fed into a recorder (that is windows based OS) that gives a continuous recording for the last month. Not to mention 1" ballistic glass surrounding our nursing station. I ask WHY? I guess to protect the video recorder. Our ED has a 40" plasma wide screen monitor hanging in the ED lobby. It has a full tilt DVD digital system includes, rumored to have cost over 25 grand. It only plays, well played, two discs. Both aquarum (sp) titles. One got banned because one of the scenes showed two sea horses, well, fornicating. Needless to say that kind of obscene video wasn't tolerrated well in "PINEHURST"

Hey bigdawg, we should ride sometime when the weather gets a little warmer. OR...... If you ride any off road I would be gald to show you around Uwharrie Mountian. I go pretty much every couple weeks. It is 16 miles of wonderful trails ranging from moderate to difficult. A lot of rocks, but at this time of year the views are pretty nice. I think Brian went with his avalanche group a few months ago. Keep in mind I cant even Imagine taking a nice vehicle there. Way too technicle for a wide truck (If you don't want damage). Perfect for Atv's and Dirt bikes. Just a thought. Chris
