Hey ego, nice to talk to someone from down where I am from.
Don't run into to many people from down that way. I was born in Richlands but my moms family is from Honaker.
yah man, there are very few sport bikers in the area... aside from the occasional squid that doesn't last long anyway.

there are a few of us though.

You'll hafta come down when we get a deals gap trip planned for this spring. We normally try to go down early on a weekday, stay over night and leave late in the afternoon the next... like thur/fri, or a weekend if we wanna play with all the traffic.

I have been pondering trying to get a pilots liscense. The whole flyng deal ,with me at the controls ,seems pretty cool, but I do not like heights. People keep telling me that flying is not as bad as climbing a ladder. My aunt who wont climd a 6 ft step ladder got her pilots liscense. Maybe I just might have to try this.
I'm afraid of heights myself, but I've been a pilot for 10 years now. I am a part owner of a Cessna 172, but am planning on building a kit plane that is the equivelent of a Busa. There is no sensation of height in a small plane, but it did freak me out when I was learning how to fly and you see the ground coming up at you when landing.

Flying is the best freedom that there is, but motorcycles come in a close 2nd. You have the sky all to yourself, plus you don't have to worry about speeding ticket's. Well, actually within a 30 mile radius of a major city you have to keep it under 250 kts, which is about 265 mph!!

Practically any plane a working joe can afford can't go that fast.

You can get all the information about being a pilot, plus a coupon for a flight in a small plane for $49 at

Yeah flying is very interesting, especially if you are not prepared for the noises and stuff. I don't mind the actual flying as much as being in airports. I was stuck in the Boston airport all day last Sunday, with all the snow, but we finally get on the plane and the pilot is like " we're just going to be a few more minutes, we've had a power surge and and need to reboot and renter data into the computer, I terrified to look into the cockpit and see a BSOD.

REAL computers never run Windows. It's actually listed in the Microsoft Legal Terms "Don't use for anything important". No worries

Sounds about like the first time I got on a plane as an adult. Had flown when I was a child but didn't really remember anything except seeing the clouds below us instead of below us. On my first flight as an adult I had a death grip on the seat in front of me when we took off. Once we were a few hundred feet up my buddy says, "You can lose the death grip on that seat. If we fall from this height it won't matter if you're hangin' on or not." I didn't even realize I was gripping the seat. After that I relaxed and ended up really enjoying it. I've flown several times since then and loved it every time. I really want to fly in a helo though. Never got to do that.

haha, be glad you heard the thump of the landing gear coming down because it might have got messy if you didn't hear it.......For me taking off is better then landing. Blow a tire on the landing and it will not turn out very good.
I had the opportunity to get launched off a Aircraft carrier in a plane 140 mph in 2.3 seconds, about shidded myself on that one
