News has been hitting the internet of the Hayabusa being discontinued because the engine does not comply with Euro4 emission standards and other safety regulations that are a part of the EU Regulation 168/2013 which came into effect on 1st January 2016!

One thread down in Gen II related topics and see "The End?" and you will note this got covered already.

A sad reality but there is hope of a release in a couple years..

They've made their other engines compliant.
They can make a new Busa engine do the same, as the Euro regulations have been in place for years.
The manufacturers knew the new Euro4 regulations were coming on a preset date anyway.
Euro4 could be a positive thing, at least in terms of forcing Suzuki to make a new Busa so it will comply with the new regulations.
Time will tell.
