Damn I must be getting old

So I looked in my closet last night to make sure I had some gear left before going to pick up the bike. Looking around it was either older than old, or just did not fit the expanded waistline anymore.

So I went down to pick up some gear and holy crap this stuff is expensive now. I just can't believe it.

I walked out with a 1,500 receipt for gear....

That's why all of my gear except the helmet and boots is used.

First Gear leather touring jacket with armor - $100
Vanson Hayabusa perferated leather jacket - $260
Teknic Thunder pants with knee pucks - $110

The boots were from newenough.com $165
The helmet was from a board sponsor at 20% off.

You need to watch for stuff in the for sale section and be quick when good deals are posted, but you can get great gear at flea market prices that way.

I've been riding since I was 12, now I am 36 closing in on 37. I never bother with cheaper stuff cause I have seen first hand how crappy it protects you (like ICON stuff).

Never thought about the used route...DOH... Oh well maybe when I look for a set of Dianses pants will look at newenough.

There's nothing wrong with the ICON line. It's not all out racing gear, but it fit's the bill nicely.
