thats not true. 98% of people did not vote for Hitler. in the 1933 elections Hitler received 33% of the vote.

after he was elected chancellor he later proclaimed himself as a dictator. Austrians didn't vote 98% for Hitler. they did however vote 98% for the unification with Germany because at that time Austrians felt like they were Germans and they were ethnically.

the US has a checks and balances with two seperate powers so I really dont see the nexus. not to mention just about 50% of the people voted for POTUS and the other voted for his competition. it could have went either way.
