Ok I go pick my Busa up in about two weeks. I am schedule for a 2 day riding class the following week. But do I have to have my license before I ride the bike from the dealership or will they let me take it without a license. I am in Texas. If anyone knows the rule about taking it without having my Motorcycle license let me know. I am sure I can ask the dealer I just keep forgetting and thought maybe someone here would know. Thanks again guys
as long as your are 18 you can ride away

Yeah...welcome and congrats on the new Busa...
In VA, taking the MSF course voids you having to take the riding part of the DMV tests...perhaps you just need to get your learner's, take the course, and you'll be set!

Be careful and have fun!

In NC you can take the written test and get your permit. Which means you can ride as long as you want you just can carry a passenger. If you aren''t a rider now think about the Motorcycle Safet Foundation rider's Class

In Texas the MSF course voids out any need for further testing. Most Courses, unless on a military base, are done with school bikes. Maximum 500cc training bikes. The MSF course is ideal to get your skills sharpened, The first day is the basics (for someone who never rode), but come the second day we challenge all skill levels. Once you graduate the course they will give you a certificate. It is not a licensees but just a cert. saying you passed. You take that to the DMV and they will put the endorsement on there. As far as them selling you the bike without an endorsement. Its up to the dealer. If they have any morals they will not lot someone without an endorsement ride off the lot. They should deliver it to your door (granted you live considerably close). Most dealers see $$$ not individuals. So its your call as to if you feel comfortable riding the busa home w/out an endorsement, or truck it home and know that everything will be ok.

BTW Welcome to the Addiction.

Here in sunny California....if you financed the bike you have to have insurance on it....if you have insurance you usually need to prove you are properly licensed to operate the vehicle......

Ok I called the dealer today and they said that I will have to have the license I am signed up for a course and they said they would keep my bike in the back under a cover for 2 weeks for me. By the way it came in today and when I got there I was like where is my baby and the salesman said oh we put it in the bike show at the convention center seeing as you havent signed the papers yet. So I signed the papers and it will be back on Tuesday. So after my wedding which is April 3rd I am going to the safety course and then woohoo go pick it up. No one better scratch my baby at that show damnit
