I know randy will read this....

Anti-abortion activist Randall Rerry has been a familiar face around Notre Dame the past few weeks.
But today, he was in another familiar position: In handcuffs.
Terry was arrested today after getting a trespass notice from university police.
He and other protestors were pushing around strollers with dolls covered in fake blood.
Officials say the school has a right to tell Terry he's not wanted on campus.
Terry has been arrested more than 40 times for his protests over the years.

UPDATE: Anti-abortion activist Randall Terry arrested at Notre Dame | WSBT South Bend - Your Local News Leader | Local News

SOUTH BEND — Anti-abortion activist Randall Terry bonded out of the St. Joseph County Jail Friday afternoon after being arrrested earlier in the day for trespassing on the University of Notre Dame campus.
Terry posted a $250 bond, a jail spokesman said. He is scheduled to appear in court at 8 a.m. May 19.
Terry was arrested about 12:20 p.m. near Notre Dame Law School for violating a campus no-trespass order Notre Dame had issued him earlier in the day, university spokesman Dennis Brown said.
Notre Dame Security Police placed him in a security vehicle and delivered him to the jail.
Terry and some followers were protesting President Barack Obama’s upcoming commencement visit to the Catholic university. Group members were pushing baby strollers containing dolls covered in fake blood when the arrest occurred.
Terry, a Catholic convert, has been in South Bend since late March to protest Obama’s planned visit and acceptance of a Notre Dame honorary degree. Because of Obama’s pro-choice stance regarding abortion and his support for fetal stem-cell research, opponents say the university shouldn’t be honoring the president.
Randall and some followers conducted a similar protest with the dolls in baby strollers Thursday.

I am Pro Life and I find what he did disgusting and should be arrested. There are ways to express your beliefs in a legal and respectful manner to all. Trying to shock people into seeing your point or agreeing with you will only turn them away.

Very well put...

I agree or keep your beliefs to yourself and let each his or her own...

If he pulled that crap next to me, it would be his blood on the stroller too....

Looks to me like the man has a lot of courage to find a peaceful means of demonstrating against what he knows to be absolutely wrong. I'm sure he knew that he would offend plenty of people - what can you do without offending people these days? But he followed through with his statement anyway - a baby in its mother's womb is just as much a living, breathing, thinking, and feeling human being as one in a stroller. Yet our society punishes those who kill the latter and praises those who kill the former. That people cannot see the obvious contradiction in that simply blows my mind.

If this guy had been arrested while displaying homosexual pornography as art, the ACLU would have been out screaming about his first ammendment rights. But since he was out their visually demonstrating that abortion is wrong, he is persecuted, prosecuted, and threatened with physical violence.

In my opinion, American citizens who would react to peaceful demonstrations like this one with physical violence are the ones who truly belong in jail.

We do not and should not live in a society where people are required to keep their thoughts and beliefs to themselves. Our founding fathers clearly did not wish for our society to degenerate to that place when they wrote:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

CTD, it was not what he was doing it was where he was doing it -- private property. He trespassed. I am sure that he could have gotten a permit to push the stroller around and to "peaceably assemble" legally somewhere near ND.

Do you think that it is right for people to burn crosses in a public park?

I don't see the issue here. If you don't like what someone is doing, then just move on. Big Deal. I get really tired of SOMEONE always being offended by something or someone. If your out in Public and see a demonstration and don't agree, JUST keep going where you plan to.

Kinda like all those Anti-War Demonstrators a Soldiers Funerals. They have the right, as long as they don't interfer with normal events, even if I have NO RESPECT for them or their cause. Guess that's what makes us different !

And, is ? ND a private school ? which would indeed make it private property. But, I don't think so ? Anyone know ???

Will Randall Terry or anyone else who agrees with him take care of all of the babies that shouldn't be born in this world? I DON'T THINK SO! I'm glad they locked his dumb a@s up.

Well, I don't believe there is any such thing as a baby that shouldn't be born, but in order to continue the discussion without argument let's agree to refer to them as babies who would otherwise be aborted.

There are enough people out there who would take care of them - including me. There are also plenty of resources out there for mothers who need help and don't know where to turn - like Crisis Pregnancy Centers. Orphanages aren't full because of a lack of people willing to adopt or care for kids - they're full because of the beauraucracy that has been built up around adoption.

Regarding the statement that it was not what he was doing, but where he was doing it, I disagree. It's pretty clear from the comments all around that he would have been persecuted no matter where he had done this.

Some people will be for abortion, I am not. Funny thing is, we ALL bow our heads when one of our young troops gets killed. There is a war here in the USA that is killing 1000's Americans a year. And everyone looks the other way, that is sad. What if that one child had the cure to cancer, aids or even the common cold?
Maybe we need people to shock us into waking up and see what is going on! If this offends anyone, tough! Tell it to the dead American Children that were legally aborted/murdered.

I've been married for 18 years without children and never once has my wife required an abortion. It's amazing what a little planning can accomplish.

Education is the key, not "in your face" demonstrations. Nobody is going to be swayed by some jerk that is trying to prove a point. If anything, it will have the opposite effect and people that are pro-abortion will stick to their beliefs knowing that kooks like this are out there trying to take away their rights as "they see it."
