Whoever the engineer is that came up with the battery terminal crimping design for the positive terminal....you should be fired from your job and never allowed to engineer anything ever again.....just my 2 cents.

Sorry I had to vent....

Talk about over complicating something so simple.

A lot of battery locations leave a lot to be desired as well....

My son had a Dodge Journey and you couldn't get anywhere near the battery without major disassembly....

Even my wife's Edge has it's battery under in the fire wall and you have to take the complete air induction system off to get at it....

One of the seniors we look after has a Chrysler 300 that has the battery in the trunk.....

Makes a person wonder......

It's crazy isn't it, there are a couple of rules I always try hard to follow in life, KISS (keep it stupid simple) and if it isn't broke don't fix it. Some of these engineers break both rules in one design.

Both my cars have the battery in the trunk. Drawback is the long positive battery cable (which hasn’t been a problem), advantage is it’s much easier to get to.

Unless you have a trunk full of stuff if you are travelling or something....

And the manufacturers don't mind as they figure this is something that owners (for the most part) won't be able to look after and dealerships will have to........more money for them.....

They’re under the load floor next to the spare tire. Mercedes has done this for years. I suppose you could lift the panel and put a lunch box or a 6 pack in it’s place. Not likely.
The senior lady's Chrysler 300 has it under the load floor beside the spare tire as well......but I was saying that if someone was travelling somewhere with the trunk full of stuff and had a battery issue, it would all have to be unloaded to get at the battery....

General Motors has a similar setup but uses a T shaped bolt as part of the battery’s terminal. Common failure part.
