1441CC kit for Gen 3? Yea or nay?

I've decided to get the head and cam package from Carpenter Racing in NJ. The next item on their list is to add a 1441CC piston kit which has me thinking...

I'm going back and forth on this. They say the engine will make 253 HP at the wheel with this kit which sounds optimistic. But even so, the performance gain would be amazing even if it's a bit less.
The kid in me really wants this.
The adult concern is reliability coming from opening up a factory built motor and increasing the stress on the overall system. Yes, Hayabusa motors are stout but I don't want to ruin a perfectly good engine (and bike). So maybe the head and cam package is enough.

This would be for normal street riding. I'm not a racer and usually baby the bike in the low to mid range of the RPM scale.

There are some old threads about adding the 1441CC kit to Gen 1's and 2's but what about Gen 3's?
Anyone done this? How did you like it?
Am I crazy?

Tough one. I think, like yourself, I usually ride moderately. But every once in a while I head out to the hills for a run. Been that way with my various cars and bikes for as long as I recall.

How much is the total cost if you get the 1441 piston kit? Is your riding skill level up to handling 253 hp at the wheel? Since you normally baby the bike is the cost of the kit, work required to install the kit going to be worth the expense/effort considering you baby the bike and don't plan to race????? If the answer is yes to all those questions than go for the kit but if no maybe just be satisfied with whatever HP/torque your bike is currently producing

Correction - the claimed gain would be 235 HP with the head, cam and 1441cc piston kit.
I had the numbers flipped.

Head and cam package alone would give 220 HP.

Still, quite a gain.
You only go around this dust ball once so if you are inclined to get more power, the heads and cams seems to be pretty good and most likely not too bad for cost compared to a turbo set up....

If you are only looking for a little more grunt, that would be a good direction to go in.....

You can only use so much power on the street before it gets unmanageable....

Good questions to consider.

$7150 for head, cams and 1441cc kit
$4500 for head and cams only
Cost is certainly a factor. I’m not rich so $7150 would be a real stretch for me.

I had the HP number flipped for the 1441cc kit.
It’s 235 HP
220 HP for head and cams only.

At 13:5:1 compression with the 1441, wouldn't we be needing to run racing fuel?

Pretty steep price to pay and a third the price of the bike but if you've got the coin to invest and its' what you want for it.
