Ive only been riding for 6 years, so i figured it was about time:poke:

I've gotton to many out of class tickets to count along with some big trouble last June, I decided it was time. I went to the DMV last month and scheduled my road test, assuming they didnt have bikes test before spring. I got the first available time, it was feb.18th. I knew it would be cold and that wouldnt help anything, but i took the date so if there was a problem i woulod have time to re-test before spring and more importantly the Bash.
My bike wont work for the test, I know Busa's can do it, but the extended arm and fat tire werent goin to help anything. So I ask a friend if i can use his bike, it currently resides in my garage, so it was the logical choice. He says " just dont drop it, its never been down" I promise not to drop and proceed not to practice, at all. He has the bike shifting set backwards, first gear is 1 click up, and then click down for higher gears. This along with billet grips that work great in freezing temps:banghead:
I missed most of last summers riding season, so i was a bit worried. But it turns out, its like riding a bike, you never forget:poke:.
I got up at 9am to temps in the low 30s and flurries. Great.... Got suited up met another friend to escort me to the test site and carefully push the bike through the snow covering the driveway.
When we get to the test site we have to wait. The zx10 sits, waiting to go to work. It attracts the attention of a garbage truck driver who said i should get my license just got showing up. :laugh:The lady is ready for the exam, looks over the bike and we find that the brake light wont come on. Its a clear alteratives intagrated one, light yes, brake light, no. She offers to let me take the test using hand signals instead. I just want this over with so I agree.

Off i go, up the road, few circles and some figure 8's. Not bad, just worried about finding a slippery spot. She then driected me back around a few blocks back to the begining of the test area. I make it back without incident, recieve a few crituqes on my riding and recieve my license:cheerleader:
While she said what i did "wrong" I just smiled and thought to myself " lets see you ride this thing in this weather"

What did i do wrong? I didnt use the rear brake enough and put my feet down to early at the intersections. I did put my feet down early, trying to be ready if i find a slippery spot, no reason to argue and make her angry, she passed me anyway.

Good god man. A busa 14r and 10r in your garage. Any other kaws lurking in there lol.

I just got mine last time I was home. Got pulled over by a guy I used to ride with. He explained how it works. Basically no license in ok without endorsement. Went next day. Lady gave me crap about no dot sticker on my helmet. But let me go anyway. Luckily. Had to ride bout an hour just to get there.

Good job.
I 2nd the notion of craziness in the snow.

Florida aint messing around anymore. If you dont have moto endorsement they have right to tow and if hes a uknowhat and your doing something stupid your in trouble.
No more just letting them go.

Congrats, its always nice to at least have a license when you get pulled over. :beerchug:

I was at the DMV with my mother in law and saw that a guy on a harley was taking the test, turns out he failed, I went home and got the busa and took the test and passed on the first time! Its a good feeling not to take a permit test every year. Congradulations!

Congrats on getting your license. Now take the MSF Basic riders course.

Riding a motorcycle might mechanically be like riding a bike but the skills necessary to survive are perishable and having not ridden in a while you are rusty (we all are a little rusty at the beginning of the season). Do yourself a favor and take the class. :beerchug:

More power to you for those conditions, I'll admit I wouldn't volunteer to ride in that. Congrats on passing :beerchug:

Congrats on finally getting the endorsement. I rode for just over 2 years myself before I got my endorsement. Getting into a little trouble is what got me to finally go. I took the MSF class to get mine though.
