Hey guys, I'm about to drop more money on a turbo kit for my 2004, than the bike is worth.
I've seen RCC turbos recommended on here, but for me in Ireland I will get nailed with import tax.
Up north of this island (i.e. the UK part of it), Holeshot Racing also do turbo kits for similar money...
Thanks for the link. I wonder, where using a different retainer appears to stop the wear, is it the material absorbs this harmonic frequency that causes the shims to start eating their way out?
I'm considering a 3rd option also, get custom made shims in the shape of the yellow bit in the...
Sorry to drag up an old thread but I have this shim wearing a hole out through my titanium retainers problem too.
Except it's a Triumph Rocket head which has been modified to use Hayabusa valve springs and titaniumt retainers i believe.
I've replaced the ti retainers a couple times, thinking...
Soooo just to update on this, i STILL haven't got round to installing that Brembo brake upgrade kit lol. it's sitting on my floor gathering dust
Been flat out time and money wise with my supercharged Rocket III too
So i haven't even bought the RCC kit yet :D
well i'll be damned. exactly what i was asking. i must upgrade my googling skills lol
so it appears that MCF, the more expensive one has more additives to give longer change intervals
and 4T is cheaper as it has less additives and is meant to be changed more often than MCF (i.e. OEM intervals)...
Anyone know the difference between these?
The 4T sounds like a higher spec oil than the Metric, but the price is half as much which to me says lower quality.
Metric MCF everyday oil
4T Performance oil
i've decided to upgrade the brakes before going turbo :D
seems to be the sensible thing to do
found a kit that does brembo discs, calipers, pads, lines, fluid,,, everything except the MC. might have to get that separately
I have a guy about 2 hours away who i think is ok, i still keep an eye on him though lol. But he's a dyno tuner
What i meant was there are no performance tuning shops here like RCC or that who will build your bike, and tune it.
I'd have to build the bike myself and take it to dyno man to map it.
