    Thanks lads, it believe it or not just happened, the bike was dry stored for 2 months during the winter and when it was started back up this is the result, fuel pump is the original it's just had a good clean out and 0 ring replaced, spark plugs are replaced I think it's gonna have to go for...

    My friend has a 2000 busa with no mods, I'm at the end of the road with it! It will start and run BUT:: it coughs and splutters all the way through the range, fuel pump done. Battery done: spark plugs done: airbox sensor done: any ideas gents??

    02 busa starter upgrade question

    Ive done this mod to my 2000 model, you need the whole lot, motor, covers,clutch & gears no way around it im afraid. Its all or nothing with this mod. On the upside no more kickbacks at all which I know crack the casing and then its an expensive repair. Hope this helps, Paul

    For kickbacks on the gen 1 it seems to be the starter clutch that wears out pretty easily, I have recently upgraded the full starter system to a 2006 and no more kickbacks, be careful if these kickbacks they can crack the engine casing very easily and then it's an expensive repair
