    Tensioner problems don\'t exist

Again like JC, my replacement at the beginning of July was three pinks, which was a replacement of three pinks. I don't think that this is a dead horse, it is a continuing problem and we need to stay current. CanuckBusa: I agree about the GSXR1000.

Response to Letter to American Suzuki

I had my tensioner replaced on my '99 at the beginning of July by the same dealer who replaced it last summer (previous owner). Like JC, I caught mine in the early stages and there does not appear to have been any damage done. The dealer had to get approval from Suzuki Canada to do the repair...

What does a faulty tensioner sound like?

Quincy: You have what you think you have. Mine went a couiple of weeks ago. Valve train rattle when cold that was noticeable when the throttle was blipped lightly, when it was rolled on real slow and when decelerating at low RPM. Mine went away when it warmed up, but got worse with every...

    Hit by a truck

CanuckBusa: That really really sucks. The insurance/legal industy in the States is far different than in Canada. If you find an insurance co. to replace the bike let me know cause I'm next with all the stuff that I've had broke over the years. Get the bike checked by the best dealer service...

    Pilot 200 rear tire ?

I run a 200 Michelin Hi-Sport. All I've run to date and is fine. I'm accountant so the last 1/4" to the sidewalls is still shiny, but the rest works fine. Haven't noticed anything adverse, the bike still drops into the turns nice and you can sit at a stop light without putting your feet down...

    Does anyone regret getting one?

I've had mine since May and have come off a GS1150EF which was may first bike in 20 years. The Bus is certainly the most fun I've had on two or four wheels, my wife has a Fiat Spider and my son has a 600 Katana that do stand in duty. I love to run through the gears and toss the bike around in...

    Top Speed?

290 KPH indicated which according to my Garmin GPS 195 was 270 KPH (170 MPH). I will need to do again to confirm, as was too busy watching for traffic. GPS confirms that the speedo is about 7% optomistic all the way up. I haven't checked the odometer yet, but I suspect that it suffers from...

cage driver stuck up for me

I've got two fingers on the brake in town, period!! Had the same thing happen last Friday rush hour. Guy turning right into my lane was too busy trying to get a date to decide if it was really safe to enter (it wasn't). He's looking at me and I'm looking at him so he sees and he still cuts me...

    Service Manuals

Picked up my service manual today that I ordered last week. P/N 99500-39181-01E with the '00 Busa update. Cost was USD70 (I'm in Canada). Parts guy said I was lucky, prices on all the publications have just gone up. New price for the service manual - USD125. If you can find one at the old...

    A Moment Of Silence

Sorry to hear about Greg's accident. Didn't know him, but, like most of us, enjoyed his writing. This seemed to hit pretty close to home, makes me feel very mortal. I guess that is why there are so few replies on this thread. I will be talking to my son again about being constantly vigilant...

    NumbNuts - valve train rattle

NumbNuts: Sounds like you have the same valve train rattle as me. Had mine diagnosed by my mechanic as cam chain tensioner, even though it went away as the engine warmed up. They are going to replace @ no charge even though the bike is out of warranty (1 1/2 month). Mine came on real quick...
