Oil filter is not the problem. Fastened securely with no seam issues.

Yah, did the oil/filter (purolator, 10w40 x 5) 1000 miles ago. No overheating in the engine but the smoke coming from the engine has to be the oil hitting the outside of the engine. Gonna look under the fairings this week. Will let you guys know what I find. I have a feeling it's gonna be a $1k...

Just rode my bike today and something popped in the middle of the bike. Bike has 22k on it, I do all my 3k oil changes but it hasn't seen a maintenance check yet. Right after the "pop", there is oil dripping everywhere but not from the bolt on the bottom of the bike. I think it's a gasket...
