I've been a member there forever and have learned a lot from those guys. I came here to learn more about my 'busa forks several years ago and just popped back in to help DKshark with similar questions.

I like it DK! What exhaust is that? I really like the café fairing but I only ride naked so it's not for me. Where are you located? I'm in Columbus, OH. I see a few Bandits from time to time, but mostly stock.

Here's how it looks today. I still haven't found a fender that I like better than nothing but I'm still modding it so you never can tell...

A couple years ago, I got crazy and ordered some Galespeed racing wheels. Galespeed (from WeBike in Japan) were the only aftermarket wheels I could find that could be bought individually - B12 rear, Busa front. With shipping, they were about $2k. Front is a couple pounds lighter and the rear...

I thought clip-ons would be too low so I went ahead and drilled the triple to accept the stock bar risers and the stock ignition cylinder. Flat bars were inexpensive so I tried those first and don't feel the need to go higher.

I ran like that for a couple of years but decided I wanted a more finished look. I had heard that machinists in England were making custom aluminum parts for streetfighters and that the British pound was weak vs the US dollar so I had a custom top triple clamp made (Brits call it a yoke). I...

Somebody PMed me to ask about my fork conversion and I can't figure out how to insert a photo into a PM conversation so I'm going to resurrect this thread to answer his questions. First, I started with a pair of fork spacers to lift the front. I never had any trouble with the tire hitting the...

Here's my latest iteration of the fork guards. I still need to polish the edges and round the corners but I think I'm going to go with these for a while. I wanted to get the guards closer to the fork so I modified my wood form to create a flat spot in the curve where the upper bolt goes...

I think the Bandit is too much of an old school bike to use the fenders designed to work with the USD forks. I might try the Bandit fender if I can fab a decent mount but the fenderless look is growing on me.

Not sure if you Hayabusa guys are interested in my Bandit project or not but here's my first shot at fabbing some fork guards. It's a minimalist approach to covering the fork sliders without resorting to a traditional USD fender. I started with a $5 piece of approx 1/10" thick Lexan sheet...

Thanks ATC'er! That's exactly what I'm looking for.

I got the preload set OK but I can't find any info for the baseline damping settings. I did search but some of the pinned suspension threads have a lot of missing pictures... Can somebody tell me the number of clicks for the compression and rebound adjustments?

After a few minor setbacks (nothing a hacksaw, drill, grinder, and other implements of destruction couldn't fix), I finally got the forks and wheel mounted today. Still have to fab something for the lower fork guards and adjust my steering stops but I did go for a quick ride...

Thanks for the welcome, guys! I brought the wheel into the kitchen where the light was better and I found the arrow quickly. Since my wife didn't complain about one part inside, I brought the rest in piece by piece... Now they're warm enough to touch so I mounted an aluminum 90deg valve stem...

What's wrong with a Bandit? Yeah, I know it's old school but I'm up to approx. 125hp and down to 520lbs. Soon I'll have equal suspension F&R, shorter wheelbase and higher CG than you. I'll give you dragstrip bragging rights fer sure, but I'll match you in the twisty bits. And I bet if we...
