    timing retarder question

Hello Tinbender0 The TRE or STRE will also allow the bike access to full power under half throttle. The top end is not restricted on my model, but Suzuki does not allow full power under half throttle on the gear maps until 5th and 6th. This prevents wheel spin and preserves gas economy, some say...

    Dunlop tires D220 Tried em?

I'm about to try my first Dunlop D220 200/50 ZR17 for the rear for the first time. This will be my first non-pure sport tire. Any advice? I'm looking for longer life with a highspeed rating still. Previously tried: Dunlop D208's Metzeler sportec M-1 and M-3's Bridgestone Battleax bt010's...

    timing retarder question

Speaking of TRE's... Help wanted. I understand this topic has been beaten to death on this sight but I was wondering if someone could help me. I need to find a link to somewhere with some good pix of the tre connection. I have a 2000 busa Canadian model which has no restrictions. According...

    How cold

Darth, I'm riding up from Tampa Florida to Toronto, Ontario Canada on Tues Night. Thanks for the temp update. I bought some new Coreteck cold weather riding gear and am anxious to try it out. I usually go up 75 the whole way then through Detroit and South East to Toronto. I love the cold riding...

Okay, I've had it-cold no problem, BUT

Shibumi, Hear is a easy, and cheap solution that works great. Rub liquid dish soap on the inside of the screen. Works better then expensive antifog solutions and smells great too. Use your hands rubing it in and if it's too thick (it will appear blurry) then thin it out with some water on your...

    Sport Touring Time!

All great advice guys, I'm driving up to Toronto Canada from St. Petersburg FLA before the snow flies and I usually cross into Canada at Detroit. off I-75. I too will try some of your tips, especially the ear plugs. One note Josh just trade the camel pack for a "Red bull" at each fill up...

    How's she as a tourer?

Sumo, I tour throughout the eastern seaboard all the time from Toronto, to Tampa, and it is the best all round bike for my money. If you can only have one bike this is it. Sure a gold wing is more compfy, but doesn't even become practical when going on shorter runs or city driving. The closest...

I'm in the market for some boots...

Hello all, As someone who owns both sidi and oxstar I'd say go with the oxstar. They are both great boots but the oxstar seem more comfortable on longer rides. The sidi does get the nod when walking around after long rides, though. (The oxstar feel like downhill ski boots when walking around in.lol)

Joined the ranks of the Criminal Speeders...

What an absolute cash grab! They say they are making the roads safer for others. - I say Bull. Assuming you weren't drinking or endangering others, and had safe stopping distances, they shouldn't be able to do this. What part of "protect and serve" is this? - Protecting thier own existance...

    Dyno #'s

Sounds like lots of power to me! I've heard that forced air in the vents makes a difference, as well as sea level height etc. I have just completed the stock exhause drill out in the mod section, a new Smart tre, and a PC II upgrade. Once I map it all out I will post my changes if any in...

    Cruise'n

I'm with Georgiabusa. I ride sun up to well past sunset, and many cruise nights. Often times I come across packs of Hardley Davidsons who give me the thumbs up and the peace symbol. They can't believe I ride from Toronto Canada to St. Petersburg Fla every year. On Cruise nights I go out and...

Hot weather riding gear / jacket

I use a joe Rocket "half and half". It's absolutley fantastic warm jacket. Like the black 4.0 pheonix above but with full leather sleeves, shoulders, and collar. This jackets leather is all perforated also to allow for cool air, much like a golf glove. It comes with full armor and removable back...

    TRE installation

Thanks for the photo's guys. This may be the cure for my Smart TRE blues. I will check the right side for another connector, this may be why I'm getting the FI light. I'm connected on the left side right up high by the tank pivot. I sure hope that's the problem. THX.

TRE VS SMART TRE VS DIY TRE

Hello all, I'm also having a similar problem with the FI light coming on. I have a 2000 Canadian edition and ordered the TRE after reading all about it hear. I was dissapointed when it arrived broken and returned it. However when I wrote a letter to acompany the return of the TRE to Checkered...

Did you ever run from the popo?

Yup, Run the fuzz more frequentley then I wanted. Usually it's me just not paying attention to the speedo and then passing a oinker at 90 mph or so. Then the fight or flee instinct kicks in and my heart races like a teenager with his hands up a girls sweater for the first time. The most...
