problem is the pin diameter. ZVX pin is a little smaller.

A bad chain can do that, although it's hard to tell without listening to it myself. Links make noise when they go around the front sprocket. Turbo bikes are really hard on chains. My ZZZ only lasts about a year. Clean it up good and oil it good and see if that helps. Look for tight links.
