I checked mine at 50K...for the first time:whistle:...ALL valves were smack in the middle of the tolerence. Now at 76K I'm just beginning to hear a slight tap at start-up.

You're a lucky man. I hit a small hawk in my Saturn Vue at 85mph...it took my luggage rack (bar) clean off the top of the roof. Tore out the mounting bolt on one side, stripped the threads on the other.

It looks like a protective coating that is stuck to the paint to prevent damage during the assembly process at the plant. Look at the picture showing the mirror mounting and the wind screen bolt. The clear stuff is cut out around it so you can work. I'll send a message to a dealer local to me...
