craigslist is awesome... well the people posting are....

but i paid 11k for it after taxes 5 years ago. isn't that what the bike is worth? *sarcasm*

If there were no speed limits...

i go through the city, so 100 through not-so-curvy parts, at least 80 through somewhat-curvy parts, 120-150 on the straight sections and at least 45 through the street corner turns (since i'd be able to use the entire width of the road) these are all just the first day. hard telling what i'd do...

Modify the Busa for touring or buy K1200s???

i've ridden a k1200r quite a bit. FUN bike. very quick and easy to control despite the weight. you completely forget the ABS is even there, very unobtrusive. the wide bars make it a lot easier to muscle around than a stock busa. though it won't wheelie without cresting a steep hill (speaking...

Need recommendation on how to prevent sliding back on acceleration

another for the stomp grips. riding too far forward isn't a very likely issue and there is only so much a seat can do. stomp grips help immensely, especially since with sport bikes you want to hold your body weight with your legs/arse rather than putting unnecessary inputs/weight onto the bars...

    Ccw?

i have a hipoint 9mm (glock knock off) that is ok. though a full mag for a year or two (plus whatever before i bought the gun) wore out the spring in the clip, so now it jams after each shot. easy fix, just haven't cared enough. i currently carry a bersa .380 very accurate gun for the size and...

    scorpio sr i900 alarm help..

i spliced mine to the hot lead on the battery. i have a short (easy to replace and cheap) wire with a 30A fuse and a plug for the remainder of wire. i've had the bike 3 years with absolutely no issues. this will cut power to EVERYTHING and not cause problems with running the bike with no fuel...

    Brother havin hard time

diabetes is controllable, though (speaking from personal experience) maybe he just needs help finding a new way to better control it. buying a house close to the hospital sounds like a last resort to me. have him start checking out insulin pumps or something. they can get expensive but it...

do you really need to drag your knee?

Tufbusa is spot on. i also pick up my knee unless i need to go over farther or i'm coming around a corner with the photographer. i only try to drag on the track, btw but it is a VERY memorable experience! first time you touch you'll say "OH SH*T!!!!" and think something is wrong lol. scares...

    Must Do's?

the first thing i do to ANY bike is upgrade the brakes. very minimum, steel braided lines and aftermarket levers (you can do both for about $100 each)

    6000rpm rev limiter?????

no problem! actually, since the bike sounds like it's in "safe mode" to me, check the manuals on here to see if there's a diagnostic mode. hold a couple buttons while turning the bike on and it will flash so many times to tell you what's up. i've done it on other bikes but i don't see why busas...

    Battery Tender Jr.

it's a trickle charger so the battery doesn't matter as long as it isn't a 6 volt or something. it charges slowly enough to not cause over-charging problems

    Worth Buying Boots

kithro has it right, i think i wear my racing boots when riding for fun, otherwise i always wear icons or teknic street boots. though my teknics didn't last NEARLY as long as the icons.. the motocross enclosure system broke.. it was all plastic. the icons i had (which i got about 6 years ago...

    Bye Bye Busa....Hello DUCATI

i have a few friends with ducs and the valves aren't really that bad to do.. just takes a crapload of time (if you do it yourself). though their bikes have been spot on within tolerances, so i won't stress about it if i can find an 1198 this summer :D definitely not built for touring but...
