On the street...ANY crash I would not leave until the police show up to file a report if another vehicle is involved. If you crash alone then I would keep the police out of it since you will be written up for losing control.

A friend I used to race with has a 1098SP and that bike is a beast. The torque can make things interesting however, since the bike has nearly 0 lag, I could see it posting fast times with a good rider. Congratulations! As others have stated, look over the bike and address the "known" issues and check over all the lines/connections/bolts, etc just to be on the safe side. Also, I would start by replacing plugs, check the valves, flush the coolant, brake fluid, and replace the brake lines/pads...

Oil companies have been milking us for years...it is about time it adjusts down from the speculative prices. I plan on enjoying it until the next fabricated story comes out to raise them back up.
