Buy a bolt the same size as the frame slider bolt and cut the head off. Grind the bolt to a point and install into the frame. Mount plastics onto bike and remove to see the bolts mark on the inside. My Busa has not done that, and it's a 2002. I did have a 1983 Honda 650 do the same thing, broke right off. I assumed it was a bad casting and do to the vibration why it broke. Sounds like you had a bad casting also. Buy a new one and ride on.

You can go to a Toyota Dealership if one is near you and get the same clip for 2002-2006 Camry front under splash shield. The Camry's use the clips to retain the splash shield. Hope this helps. Depending on the dealership, they are about $1.49 Each.

I get 38 to 40 mpg on the average, that's a little of moderate and agressive riding. When on the freeway traveling, I can get mid 40's mpg. The backfiring on decel, is coming from your PAIR valve, remove them.
