It states in the manual that I cant use anything less than 90 or it will cause engine damage.

Up until a couple weeks ago I was running 89, but I switched to 87 and I noticed an increase in gas mileage, with seemingly no decrease in performance.

The Gen 2 has 12.5/1 compression I think. Definitly 91. Plus I think the manual states to use that.
