What do you thinks going to happen with china and russia?

Each one of these factions have been rattling sabers for decades.

China supported North Korea against the west (and still is). Russia and China supported Viet Nam against the US. The US supported the Mujahedeen against Russia in Afghanistan. Russia is supporting several different factions within the Middle East same as the US does...

The world powers have been punching back and forth, this is just another punching session. Since the break up of the Soviet Union, Russia has always been back and forth of whom they support and align with...the Ukraine is populated by quite a few Russian loyalists who stayed there after the break up of Soviet Russia. Russia kind of thinks it still belongs to them.

If Russia were to invade the Ukraine, it really wouldn't be a whole lot different than when the US went into Iraq or Afghanistan...in the same sense, the same goes with China and Taiwan.

China is that wild card, their entire economy is tied into world trade...if they cut that tie, their economy will suffer....it's hard to say if they will be willing to jeopardize that relationship....

We look at the news of today and see the coalition leaving Afghanistan...people are up in arms about this but in reality, there were over 300,000 foreign troops in Afghanistan and this number was not able to contain the Taliban so the current number of 7500 is nominal. Sadly the Taliban will re-emerge very quickly. Foreign armies have been trying to conquer Afghanistan for centuries and nobody has been successful.

An older thread but if anyone other than we Canucks are watching the Huawei debacle lately, you'll note the Chinese were holding 2 Canadian men on charges and even convicted one...

Once we bowed to the pressure and sent Meng Wanzhou back to China, they released the two Canadians...another sign that China is not our ally or friend.

? If you're an idiot you might believe that
You never heard about Saddam selling oil for euros to European nations in violation of the petro dollar standard set by the USA and agreed upon by most nations of importance around the world. See, this is where things get complicated when you start to understand currency values and the games played with them. Call me an idiot all you like... the reasons you believe Iraq was invaded might not be the ones that were actually used to justify the invasion of Iraq.... Did Osama Bin Laden really use Iraq and Saddams resources as a launching pad for the 911 terror attacks? By the way... How idiotic was invading Iraq anyway?

I can assure you the MIC loved it! Ever listen the the words in the movie "Apocalypse now"? its funny sometimes how Hollywood tells you little snippets of how the movers and shakers of this world think.

So with all that said, are you happy to sacrifice the fuel prices and according inflation right now, with the view of a bright future?

Stock tip, ALB good forward looking PE.

They are working to oust the Petro Dollar....the reason we can, sort of, print money at will.
WE continue to export our inflated currency to nations that buy our bonds. This in turn causes those countries to print their own fiat currency to keep up with ours. The debt bubble of the world continues to expand into uncharted territory with the Fed being the biggest player in funny money. When faith is lost on the dollar which happens when we can no longer keep up payments on the interest alone then its anyones guess as to where real value will remain. Some say gold and silver are safe havens for monetary value. However, when you consider how the metals market has been manipulated by JP Morgan Chase ( fined 930 million ) and others that manipulate it with phoney buy orders that get cancelled then its anyones guess as to how it will all come to an end. Our military plays a key part in keeping the world financial markets in check, but, it can only do so much. Wars are very costly... the clean up and rebuilding after a war is also costly. So... all wars are really banker wars as they give credit to both sides and let them have at it with a plausible story to make it look real.

Over simplified? Perhaps... what does history really tell us?
