Value of an '05 with engine trouble?

Is did sound like something between the head and piston was banging around like an escort head that dropped an intake seat.Same noise.Man that sucks and with only 16k on the clock.

Yea I am pretty disgusted with the situation. Since the engine has to come out I'm pondering just going ahead with a Gen II motor swap, then repairing the engine and selling it off as a kit for someone to put in whatever...race car or project bike...

I've thought about that as well, I think I'd be happier with the Gen II set up, I could always do a 1441 down the road with a Gen II... I think it's be cool, I really liked the idea when I saw nabusa's thread.

Only thing I might need is the engine removal sockets. I'm on a pretty tight budget. I might give them a call and have them keep an ear out for a wrecked Gen II though.

I bet if you needed it since the bike is in back of truck you could drive over there and they would spin the nuts off for you.

It's not in the truck right now...its been in my boss' garage since Friday, lol...he was afraid it was going to become a permanent fixture

Your on a tight budget? If you are handy with a die grinder with a cutoff wheel you could go to the local part's store ge a couple cheap socket's and make a few yourself. I did that when I pulled the engine to fix the trans. in my 04. If your on a tight budget I would pull the engine, tear the top end off, look for a good used set of piston's someone has leftover from a big bore swap and repair what is needed back to stock. No running problem's with changing thing's. If you do some change's then you might have to get it tuned also, More money. Make some spanner socket's and fix what you got.
