Turbo Busa Journey- Medusa.

So time has come to post a thread about my journey till date with attaining the Turbo Hayabusa that i named Medusa. Growing up in India i started riding motorcycles at an early age but the motorcycles that i owned there had motors the size of our lawnmowers here lol. I had 150cc 4 stroke bikes and then i had a Yamaha RD350 two stroke parallel twin, Enfield Bullet 350cc. Once i came to the USA about 15 years ago the first bike i owned here was a 1998 Suzuki Bandit 1200cc for about a year and then traded that in for a 2004 Suzuki GSXR1000 but i found that liters bikes were not for me, as i am 6"3 240-250 lbs. So again i sold that after a season and bought a 2003 Kawasaki zx12r and simply loved that bike, really handled well around corners and good top end. Then i got a 2006 Kawasaki zx14 loved the linear power on it but felt like it was a boat and did not handle as well. One thing that i have noticed with Kawasaki is that they are not as good of a built quality with their plastics and all. They're good with technology with the whole monocoque chassis and everything that goes with it. So finally i sold that bought a Harley Fatboy, loved that bike too but i missed the speed and power and handling. So after much thought and shopping around i bought myself a 2003 Suzuki Hayabusa. So a little back story on the Hayabusa which by the way is my dream bike. I must have been 19-20 yrs old in india and i was on my awesome 150cc Honda lol and i heard this earth shattering sound coming from behind me, there was traffic and city noises of people honking, commuters and buses, so needless to say it was noisy but when i heard this sound it pretty much overpowered every sound out there. I thought it was Dodge viper or something and lo and behold here comes the mighty Hayabusa and i am having goosebumps even when writing this, I had never seen anything like this before. Huge, wide, menacing, powerful. We were at the light and when the light went green it was like time stood still and this guy was already at the next light and we hadn't even started. That day i was like man one day i will own that mean machine. So coming back to the purchase of the Gen 1 03 busa, I realized what the fuss was all about, the bottom end torque on this thing was astounding as stock and Suzuki's are famous for their short stroke motors. I then did the usual mods that people do with brocks full exhaust, Power commander, carpenter porting among others. And then about two years later sold it as i had to go to school for higher studies and all. And then i started researching years later about what can one do to make them more powerful, Carpenter racing mods, superchargers or the ultimate- turbochargers. I remember going to see Frank at powerhouse about a decade ago as i had looked him up, top notch guy. Here i am like kid in a candy store and we must have spoken for about 2 hours explaining everything and showed me around his shop, It was a high i could not come down from, I mean the guy and his shop is legendary, putting out monstrous bikes since well over 3-4 decades. A stand up guy. So even with turbo chargers the question was how to make them reliable? You've Hahn, Velocity, RCC, NLR. So i started looking in the market and found one with quite a few work done to it. Had a velocity stage one with Garrett GT28, airshifter, 300 tire kit from trac dynamics, 2 stage lockup clutch, bigger injectors and fuel pump and i was getting it for an amazing deal. Looking back hind side i would get a stock Busa and put an RCC stage one which can be upgraded to 400+ whp with motor upgrades, with the GT28 i am limited wit max 350 whp, spools real quick though. So anyway, bought the bike and must had ridden it 50 miles and straight took it to none other than yours truly Frank Davis at Powerhouse Motorsports in West Babylon NY. I would highly recommend the guy, he is second to none. Call him anytime and picks up the call and helps you no matter what, email savvy too. Gave it to Frank and then him and Jay his faithful colleague went to work on it. Wossner Pistons, Carrillo rods, 1/2 studs, Robinson race cut tranny, Trac dynamics 4 over swing arm with built in airtank, a newer better airshifter, added two maps, 240whp on 93oct, and 315whp on C16. I am sure i am forgetting a whole bunch but the motor is ready to handle 600+ whp and that will be coming in the future as well. As of right now i am very happy and need to work on it slow and steady till i graduate to that level of power. I hope you guys like it. Feast your eyes....lol
