Im awfully sorry about your mishap,but i understand what you meant by listening to your innerself,i can think back to a few times when i should have.Iwould get the estimate on the repair and take it from there,with a little luck you could find plastic already painted and in good shape,there"s alot of plastic floating around out there,youll be fine.Have a good day.
