Having just replaced a left side faiting, I toally agree that it doesnt make sense to separate he heat shields from the fairing when ordering parts. Thankfully I was able to re-use the old heat shields or I would have had to wait another week for the parts! ???

After dismantling rashed parts from an '08, and not realizing just how many individual pieces there really are, I quickly became a fan of my '03 even more

Also, though a relatively small complaint in the big scheme of things - with SO MANY individual pieces, why didn't they think to make just one of those parts (near the oil filter) come off easily and all by itself? Oil changes are done routinely by so many owners and this would have made that so much easier!! I would have been sold on an '08 had they done that
