Wanted to let my extended family know that my son is competeing in the AAU Club Championships this week in Florida at the Disney Wide World of Sports. So far he has placed 3rd in the Long Jump with a jump of 15.04 and qualified for the AAU Jr. Olympics in Virginia later this month. Today he will run in the 200m dash and tomorrow he has the Shot Put. He's already qualified for the Jr. Olympics in the Shot at our regional meet with a throw of 35ft.
He's 12 and competing at the Midget level. I couldn't go because i have to work but i get constant updates via phone and the net.

Congrats ... I also have a nephew that competes AAU 100m, 200m, and shot put ... he also made the regionals and will be going to VA Beach ... I'll try to roll down there and watch him compete ... he's 14 yrs old.

Cool. I'll be in VA too. I think from the 30th of July to the 5th of Aug.

Not so hot in the 200 pulled up and didn't qualify for the finals.
