Problem with directionals

Today I went to get an inpection sticker and whatta ya know,my brand new 2006 directionale were acting like hazards. Both directionals flashing at the same time! Needless to say,I couldn't get the sticker.
2 hrs later and a few small little wheelies and they work again..WTF
Has this happened to any of you? What would make them do this?
Any answers would be greatly apreciated.

just a guess,doesn't sound like a short...sounds like a bad flasher relay. RSD.

I was going to ask if you had an alarm or a tail light integrator, but then I saw your other post. Agree that it is a relay (doesn't your model have hazards?) could be a problem in the directional housing..... spit balling here, but if a connection is loose or a wire is making intermittent contact, etc....

I looked in my owners manual and didn't see anything on 'Hazard' lights.
It just pisses me off that the second I go to get an inspection sticker,the dang things dont werk!!!
Yes,it is under warranty,but I cannot justify bringing it in for this never mind that the weather here changes all the time and right now I'd be better off with a snowmobile......
Where is this relay located?
