obviously, according the manual suzuki recommends 10W-40 oil.
me being the non-observant guy i am threw in some 10W-30 on accident. at first i freaked but eventually realized it didnt make a difference. so question: ITS ABOUT THAT TIME AGAIN, AND I WANNA TRY SOMETHING NEW. WHAT'D YA RECOMMEND? WEIGHT? TYPE? HOW IS IT? ETC! (i'm using Valvoline SuperSyn now)
thanks,
Brian~

The oil that replaced it , the Extended Performance 15w-50 is made of the exact same base oils but with more zinc as a primary anti-wear additive, secondary anti-oxident .

Simply put , the EP 15w-50 is a better version of the old red cap oil with around 300 ppm more zinc and phosforus .

It's apparent to me that the EP 15w-50 is using a different type MoDTC " moly " . Probably the same type used in the Mobil race oil . They need less of it to use as an anti-oxident because the EP oil uses more zinc in which once again is an anti-wear additive primarily and a good anti-oxident secondary .

Boron and Overbased Calcium also serves as secondary anti-wear additives .

It's good oil for the money and better than "some" of the ultra expensive bike oils IMO .

More current oils .

Is this "red cap" or "gold cap" oil made for motorcycles? I was always told to use a motorcycle specific oil because of the clutch. Is this the red cap and gold cap oil found at wal-mart?

perhaps a stupid question, but just how does one decide which is a "better oil" based on the composite breakdown? Do bikes have specific composit needs vs. cars?

Castrol GPS semi-synthetic and an OEM filter. Stock weight. It will make your Busa shift smoother than silk
