NO AIR BOX

does any one run their busa with no airbox and only stacks. If so or if not what are the reasons and purposes. That air box is really a pain in the butt. My bike is an all out drag bike so just curious?

I'd go with the large box mod before I removed the box.

You take the airbox off and you will loose horsepower... simple as that...

To loose the airbox equals no ram air effect. Thats free Hp. Why would you want to give that up?

The ram air is not all that is lost when removing the air box. The air box is part of the complete package. It is not as simple as removing the air cleaner from a 60s Chevelle. There is great effort to sizing the air box, ram tube lengths, bell curves etc to tune to the engine. The bike will make more horsepower in stock and mildly modified with the air box in place even on a dyno without ram air being a factor. You have to get to a pretty exotic package to go outside the limits of the airbox.
