My spindle mount

Been looking for a way to mount my GPS on the bike and ordered a mount from Ram Mounts. I ordered the one that attaches to the brake or clutch handle. Well I tried it and didn't like how it worked when I turned the bars it would come too close to the wind shield. Having it mounted there also interferred with the tank bag. Today I came up with a solution that turned it into a spindle mount. I used a lathe at work to turn it from square to round and a diameter of 13 mm. It now slips down into the spindle to hold it in place I drilled and tapped ahole on an angle to take an 8 - 32 set screw. Tightening the set screw firmly locks it in place. I left a small lip at the top so it only goes in so far. Sorry picture isn't the best but I tink you get the idea.

I did something similar, but yours is even more ingenious! I turned mine down to the diameter, then drilled a hole in the middle for a stainless threaded rod to go through the steering head. Yours is MUCH cleaner! Good job! :beerchug:
