my girl wants a bike

I got a 08 Ninja 250 just for kicks (and good milage) but was totally bored with it after a few hundred miles. Good bike, but has no use after a few weeks IMO.
My nephew just picked up a Ninja 500 which was LESS $$ than any 250's that were available and it has 50% more power ( like 50 hp instead of 25hp). It was just as easy to ride, felt as light but could accellerate more realistically. Must be less demand for 500's around here.

I would encourage her to get the 500 because once you got used to it, you would not have to trade up.

You will have no problem selling the 250 when its time. They are in very high demand as a trackday bike. Yes, I said trackday bike, no I am not joking.

Hell, even *I* would use one on the track if it were the right track. It would be a blast!

My wife has very little experience, next week she'll be taking the MSF course and she just got a '00 SV650 to learn on. She wants a cruiser style bike once she gets a good handle on riding. Good luck.

Unless you're stuck on a Harley:poke:
The yamaha V-star is a very nice bike with a low seat. My buddy bought a good used 650 then bought a new 1100. It's a bike you can really customize. I've seen a lot of Harley guys giving my buddys bike a serious look over.
The black bike is the 1100 before customizing. The black with yellow flames is after. The black with red flames is the 650. It may not do 200 MPH but it sure looks good!
It it feels good do it!
