LED bulb AND Clearwaters installed.

So I finally made up my mind and got rid of my HID projector w/halo rings...basically got rid if the whole headlight.

I took a chance on an Amazon Chinese headlight for around $100. The quality of the light isn't to bad so I'd say if you're on the fence about it go fo it. Decided that if I was going with an LED bulb I may as well get a good one so I went with the GTR Lightning Ultra 2 from Headlight Revolution. Yes they're expensive ($200 for the low and high beam) as heck but I didn't want to skimp. The Retrofit Source also has them in stock BUT they won't split a kit for two different bulb sizes so Headlight Revolution took care of me.

Since this light has a BIG fan on the back of it is NOT simple install. You will have to take off the retainer clip and fashion a bracket for the light to stay mounted. I pray that this light will not go up anytime soon since I will have to remove my nose to replace it. Lifetime warranty on the light.

I also decided to install some Clearwater Darla's...should've done this a LONG time ago...yes they're $500 but DANG this things are BRIGHT! I'd say make this your FIRST choice before ANY headlight modification.

I did notice that the Chinese headlight has a I guess it would be called a reflector cup in the middle of the low beam. I read that this is a European style light and its used to cut down on glare.

Impression:

1. Like I said do yourself a favor and get the Clearwater Darla's...you won't regret it.

2. I really like the LED light output but I need to take some time to aim the headlight along with the Darla's to give myself the best spread without blinding people.

3. As you can see in the pictures I do have some upper light scatter. Yes I was expecting this since its not a projector but I think its scatter in a good way. One thing that I
HATED about my HID projectors I had was that the cut-off was so sharp that I couldn't see much at all beyond the line and night riding was rather difficult if not
dangerous at times due to this. I think this small amount of scatter will help somewhat alleviate this.

I will take some time to fine tune my lights over the next few weeks.
