Remember, the Dems had control of both houses the first two years. I guess the Repub argument fooled close to half the population as Romney got almost as many popular votes as Obama. I personally despise both of these parties and the people leading them. I think it was closer to $2 Bil spent on this election. Where does all this money come from and why is it going to someone running for a public office, maybe because they will be dispensing public funds and making policy that will impact a lot of interests? Where is the pay out for the politicians and political parties,,, payola? Insider trading based on legislation?? As much as I despise these politicians and the parties they represent I hesitate to call Obama or the Repubs and Dems in the Senate and House treasonous, criminals for taking direct and indirect bribes in the form of campaign donations? Yes, Guilty of insider trading activities, yes (most of them), treasonous, not likely.
I don't understand why the liberals (socialists actually) get so worked up about the tea party one minute then insist they are inconsequential the next. If someone wants to start a political party its within their right to do so, this is still America. If you think the Dems care about the poor and minorities more than Republicans you are fooling yourself, they care as far as the next vote, then they will pretend to care with an air of paternalism that disgusts me, hell they even insist on lower educational standards for minorities, by group, here in Fla, sickening, (how is that caring?). The Republicans have not mastered the paternalism thing yet but they think the same way.
The President is the executive of the country, very few have been good leaders, including Obama. Obama, Bush, and all before work for us , we don't work for them. I don't think the Dems or Repubs are stupid, hell they have managed to fleece 16 trillion dollars from future generations, pit one racial group against the other, one religion against the other, the boy scouts against the girl scouts, and not piss off the majority of the country so far, maybe its us who are stupid. Anyway, we will see what happens when the credit card is denied and the bill comes due, that's when you will see who stands up and who demagogs.
I don't see much of a difference between Bush and Obama, except that Obama put us much deeper in debt and quicker. The more I think about it, Obama just continued Bushes policies with gusto, Bailouts, Guantanamo, Exiting Iraq on Bushes schedule, massive increases in welfare spending, fast and furious, what are these new leadership policies Obama demonstrates? Letting his Ambassador and others get killed in Benghazi? Getting services restored to NY NJ and Conn after Sandy (his Katrina)? Adding untold millions to the public dole? QE 1,2, and soon 3? Growing the economy and shrinking effective unemployment (NOT)?
Both Harvard grads demonstrating excellent leadership in some peoples eyes I guess. I am glad most the generation ahead of me , the baby boomers, will be around to see and pay for our past sins.
Am being a little pessimistic, and some above are disappointed that many don't share the same enthusiasm in the election results. As a world traveler I know we will come through this period in our history just fine and I would have it no other way, this is what makes us an exceptional people and country in the aggregate. I love this country and all my fellow countrymen, no matter party , race, religion, blah blah. I know there is no where else to go, we have been through much worse in our history, I think we all know that, and that's why we get a little passionate. Peace to all of you.

I engaged in these threads before the election because i hated to let the propaganda fool unsuspecting people. Now that the election is over, it's clear it didn't fool anyone - even a billion dollars worth! Now you right wingers are just not all that relavant. By the way, what you guys did in Obama's first term has never been done before. Bush faced one filabuster, Obama faced hundreds. That's unamerican and treasonist. You should stop spreading the lie that what the republicans did for the last 4 years was business as usual.
But the people have re-stated their belief in Obama's leadership. If you think the people voted the wrong way, it's not because the people are stupid it's because your candidates and platform was. Why would I vote for a party that alienates every major demographic, says they don't care about half the people and then at the last minute trys to take it all back? And you call democrats stupid????
