Hey guys,
I just installed my new exhaust. I ended up with the Ti-Force. I got the stainless header with the Ti can.The weight difference between the Ti header and the stainless is only a couple pounds, the price difference is significant.
A quick note about the exhaust. I spent alot of time shopping for pipes. I checked quality, prices and performance. All I can say is this, The Ti-Force is a work of art. If you hung this thing on a wall for display, it wouldnt be a waste of money. The welds are flawless, the can is beautiful. Even the flanges that bolt to the exhaust ports are billet aluminum. Its a shame to hide a pipe this nice behind a fairing.
Performance......well I hooked up my new power commander, loaded up Mr. Motorheads 007HARV map and bolted on my air box (partial mod till I get MH's, flapper and floor inside filter removed) and rolled her out. I've always had problems keeping the front down in first. Second was more managable. Not no more. Second comes up just as hard as first used to. First is unreal!
So much smoother as well. Its like everything thats good about the Busa but magnified.
Well heres my problemo. I went to bolt the lower panels back on and I've got some pretty good clearance problems.
The front of the lower fairings are very close to the first curve that the header makes toward the back of the bike. Also, where the little winglet in the back bolts to the front fairing, that area rests against the bottom of the header.
I know that I've asked about this before but wiggiling the peices hasn't helped with fit. What are some of the specific solutions to this prob? Do I need to trim the fairing? Should I leave that little winglet off?
I'm kinda stuck right now. Im trying to think of solutions, I'm thinking along the line of minimul trimming and spacers.
Help please.
