I could care less about firearms in general...and here in Canada we can't carry them or take them anywhere other than a range anyway so what does it matter if we have them or not?
As for being a pacifist, that's pretty funny, you obviously know zero about me as a person or what I've had to do in the service of my country. I've had my belly full of guns and what they represent.
You are a pacifist in the sense that you don’t care about what others might.
When Lord Trudeau finally homes in on something you do care about everyone you don’t care about might feel the same way you do know. And that is exactly how the link I posted above came to fruition.

There was a vote in parliament which allowed the banning of certain firearms, not one person has the power to do this. A bill has to be presented and approved by parliament.
Everyone knows the percentage of legally owned firearms are used in any crimes but there is little the common man can do other than sign petitions and donate to the legal litigation of the bill.
People go on about freedoms but both our countries enjoy freedom to a limit...we have the freedom to own a motorcycle which will far exceed the posted speed limit however we don't have the freedom to explore the limits of our bikes...it's the cost to pay for being part of a larger society.
Much like owning certain firearms here in Canada, People who use firearms for hunting can still possess those weapons platforms. Target shooters and ranges will soon be a thing of the past along with actual gun stores. Canada is and never was a gun state and I'm good with that personally as I can only speak for myself.

For years and years I was unable to say what I did, now perhaps I say too much, so I can understand where you are coming from. I only repeat it as I am reinforcing my position-maybe not just for you but others who might be reading this thread.
It isn't Trudeau telling us that, he is just the mouthpiece for his party and they take their marching orders from the majority of people who oppose firearms..anyone with even part of a clue will know this will do nothing to stop gun violence...
I have a good friend who was in my former unit who opened a gun store.....he said sales have dropped off so much he will probably soon close up shop-he has already laid off everyone.
So then let me ask you one simple question.
If they know it won’t stop gun violence why are they doing it?
It’s not about them (the criminals). It’s about you.
The good honest person who one day may say….
And they don’t want YOU to be able to hurt them when that day comes.
It's about the minority fringe groups that pull the strings to make the governmental puppets dance.
These groups lobby their bills and because the Liberals want their votes they push them through.
I have a few banned firearms and when the time comes that I have to turn them in, they will be run through my band saw first.
