Just wanted to remind everyone to check tightness of their shiftter. Mine fell off today at 110 m.p.h. Went to down shift and there was nothing there. Luckily the shift linkage kept it from flying down the road. Had to pull over and was ablt to get it threaded back in enough to make it home. That bolt should have a pin or a another stop to prevent that from happening.

Oh well, it gave me something to do today. Have a great one and ride safe everyone.

thanks for the heads up. seems like a problem a few members have ran into

drill a hole thru the bolt and put a cotter pin in..

doesn't sound like you need a repeat of that one.

Thanks for the advice and I'm glad you made it back home with all parts intact...

Is your busa a 05? I heard that year has that problem, looks like they did not put loc-tite on the screw. Again that's what I was told.

Had the same problem on my 04 after I lowered the toe shifter (I put lower pegs on).

Just make sure that the jam nuts on both ends of the rod are tight. That stops it from vibrating loose.

05 here and it happened to me after about 6 weeks of daily riding/commuting.

Hasn't happened since the fix.

Yeah mine was an 05. I just never thought it would happen to me because it was always tight. Never thought it would actually come loose.
