I hope the fact that it's making headlines brings him closer to the help he needs. Cancer patients don't have the luxury of waiting for the Federal gov't to make decisions...that could take years. It's absurd that he's not covered simply because he's a man...

If he loses the battle before the policy changes, his family will have one hell of a sex-discrimination lawsuit.
I wish him the best of luck!!

I truly hope that doesn't happen. I really felt for the guy...just 26 years old...

Its just sad. It could be any one of us and we would be in the same boat. I sure hope he gets the help.

This is exactually why a friend of mine( from TX) and his partner moved/ has a clinic in Mexico. The deal is If they cant heal you YOU do pay. They do it for humanity reasons Not to get rich...
I'd pitch in a few $$ to help the dude or help get him a ticket to TX ..
I've been in really bad shape before , and my heart really goes out to someone hurting like this......

What I find odd is that this thread didn't get much attention, but the kid with the earring did. Sad world we live in, when society is more worried about a kid being discriminated against for having an earring at 5 years of age vs a man being denied health care coverage for breast cancer...just sad...

Sickening that a young man is dying waiting on someone to stroke his name on a piece of paper. Especially when it was just a over-site to begin with. I just turned 27 last week, this could just as easily be me. Our heath-care system is a down right shame...:poke:

Wow, how sad for this young man. I sure hope some doctor saw that and realized how stupid it was and will gave him the treatment he needs.

I was waiting to see where this one would go first. The majority of the vocal .Org members seem to be conservative. Supporting this person’s struggle would go against what many seem to been against. Medicaid after all, is one of the entitlement programs not supported much here.

As much as many of our hearts may bleed for this person and many other like him, the vocal majority would condemn him to faith and hope. Obama Care would force his employer to provide medical coverage, Not Supported. Socialized Medicine would guarantee him treatment, Not supported. Entitlement programs for the poor would give him some treatment, Not supported.

What is supported: Find another job that has medical benefits and hope there are not any restrictions on pre-existing conditions.

It’s sad to think that some Socialist program or agenda item could have diagnosed this early and prevented it from becoming cancer and saved a lot of money and suffering.

what a mess, having to wait for treatment of any kind is just sad.

Chelle I'm just not sure what to add, I don't think anyone really disagrees with you...
