They make a product called Frisket. It is a thin paper mask with an adhesive backing. I got mine at the Hobby Lobby.

I plan on using my printer to just inkjet it on. I haven't tried it yet, so I will let you know.

Good question. If you want to make left and right handed graphics, after tracing the image you want to cut, but before cutting it, make another sheet of tape on the back side of the Wax Paper behind your tracing. Whe you are done cutting, you have mirror images. One goes on the left and one goes on the right. Writing doesn't work that way though.

How about using sticker paper in the printer? I did that once and it worked. Cutting it out is a pain though
