Help!!! my bike wont start.......

My bike wont start, I am thinking it’s probably my alternator. I start it and the lights flickers, the starter works but the engine won’t turn on. And everything would eventually turn off. I used the battery charger to jump start my bike and it works. But then after I unplug the battery charger, it would eventually turn off. I put a brand new battery in it yesterday thinking my battery is dead but same problem. At a point I charged new battery with jumper cable for over half an hour and my bike ran for about 5 miles and then first odometer went off then the bike turned off. It looks like it’s not holding charge (let me remind you that it’s a brand new battery too). Guys plz help!
