HELP HELP !!!!!

WTF???
is going on
i put the thing back together
battery was dead so i charge it and it starts after several tries
then after a 30 second period it starts smoking from the fron under the dash
somek i have never smelled before

i took it apart and check it out and cant see why its smoking

i took the battery out so it dont catch fire
andf when i put it back in it wouldnt start
when it was out it was on the charger
WTF do i do?

What did yo take apart that you put back together?

Did it smell electrical (Like burning wire insulation?)

Sounds like you have a wire pinched somewhere. Check to make sure you don't have a hot lead pinched against anything metal.

Post back & we'll see if we can figure it out.

thanks to the big man upstairs
it was some degreaser on the pipes
it burned off eventually

at first i started the bike and after 30 seconds or so it started smoking
the smoke was coming up from the dash and the forks
so i killed it
took off the plastics lifted the tank and looked
i removed the battery
checked it out for about an hour
nothing
is was like wtf???
so i called a riding buddy (neighbor also) who is also an electrician
he looked and nothing
so we started the bike let it run for a minute and there it was agian but now it was coming from the bottom of the bike
the nastyest smell i have smelled
like somthing toxic
it was coming off the lowest point on the pipes

when i removed all the pieces to get them painted i trucked the naked bike to a car wash and pressure washed it
i first used the degreser and then i used the soapy water then the rinse
i took it home and stored it for the winter, after i lubed the chain, and wiped the bike down
it sat for 3 months

when i started it there must of been some of that degrese dried up on the bottom of the pipes
thats what we decide it was

after a few minutes it stoped smoking
so i put it all back together and went for a ride
and nothing no more smoke
but if you do get close to the plastics they do smell funky
i think its because the paint is so fresh
once that cures i should be ok

so if any body has the same experince as me check sh*t out before you freak out

i can laugh now but not a few hours ago

simple green is what i ve been using for degreasing stuff. i dont know what it is but it is not like any other degreaser ive used. i dont think u would have the same smoking header problem if u had used simple green. try it out yo.

Man I bet you were freaking out! If smoke started coming out from my dash I would freak out too! You were very lucky!
