Rumor is that FL might become open carry in the future.

I'm not so sure what I think about open carry. If a guy is robbing a store, they'd look around and size up who they have to kill first.

Good point. if open carry comes to be here in Florida, I will continue to conceal when I'm out and about. Just my preference!

I cary the Keltec 380. Its small but in close encounters it will do the job. I am thinking of getting the Judge that can be seen here Here Comes the Judge! Taurus .45/410 Revolver Its a 45 & a 410 combined. Hadr to miss with that one. Good luck

I think a shotgun is the best option given the situation the OP gave. Handguns are great on the road, however the shotty will always be the best home defense weapon
